Prof. X, round II

I also just had to record for posterity the fact that, when I ran into Professor X (of "Professor X thinks they're idiots!" fame) in a restaurant last week, he greeted me with an enthusiastic new year's hug and the kiss-on-each-cheek gesture that appears at seemingly at random in the southern African social landscape and that I always seem to expect from and bestow upon those who for whatever reason don't practice it.

Well, then. I guess it just goes to show that you never know.
